Rix Computers looked after Brisbane from 2001. When its founder, Rick, retired in December 2024, his son Brandon Strangman created Afford IT to carry on the same work for the same customers — genuinely affordable, high-quality IT support for homes and small businesses.

We charge $135 per hour, with a minimum of 1 hour per job. There is no callout fee, no travel fee and no booking fee — our technicians are employees rather than subcontractors, and we pay no franchise margin, so there is less between you and the person doing the work. We usually finish within the hour, and if we won't, you hear it from us before we continue.
No 'geeky' contractors
Unlike other major companies that contract out their services, all Afford IT staff are employees who work as a team to serve your interests — not those of a major corporation.
